Fans were shocked when news of Imran Khan and Avantika Malik's marriage hitting a rough patch first surfaced. It was being said that due to growing differences between the couple, Avantika took their daughter Imara and left Imran's home to stay with her family.

Recently, the Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actor attended an event, where he was asked about the reports that he was heading for a divorce. According to DNA, he refused to answer the question and told the reporters, "How can you ask such a question at an event like this?" However, he did not lose his cool, and continued to smile for the cameras.

Imran's mother-in-law Vandana Malik confirmed to a website that there were problems between the couple. However, she rubbished rumours that they were ending their marriage of eight years.

"We all (Vandana, Avantika and Imran) read the news and let me tell you that there is no such thing. There are some differences (between the husband and wife), which will be sorted anyway," she said, adding that they were "absolutely not" considering divorce.

Imran made his big screen debut with Abbas Tyrewala's Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in 2008. He has acted in films like I Hate Luv Storys, Break Ke Baad, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. He disappeared from the Bollywood scene after his last release, Nikkhil Advani's Katti Batti, tanked at the box office.
